It is almost safe to say that Judd Apatow owns the comedy world. He has worked on most of the R-rated comedies released in the last few years. All but a few have been successful. His most recent film, “Funny People,” will most definitely continue that streak. It his most personal film to date. And while it might not be the usual stupid humor that we are used to, it is still downright funny and proves how talented these actors really are.

I love listening to music in the car and cranking up my radio, but recently i have found myself having to constatnly change the station. I am sick of tasteless music! Now I am not a total extremeist where all I listen to is Christian music, however the pictures these songs have been painting in my head as I am driving are things I could have lived perfectly without hearing. Here are the two songs I hate most on radio as of now:
A. Love Game by Lady Gaga. Now I loved Lady Gaga’s fun techno twist on music before this song. But some of the lines in this song that I cannot handle. For example, “Just want touch you for a minute,” “just bust that thick,” “I’m on a mission and it involves some heavy touching, yeah. You’ve indicated your interest, i’m educated in sex, yes, and now i want it bad,” not to mention the chorus of the song, “I wanna take a ride on your disco stick.” Now am I crazy or does it not look bad when girls are screaming these lyrics at the top of their lungs? And what kind of message is that sending, phycologically, to the teen mind? Most importantly, I know that I am not the youngest person listening to pop music, think of all the children around 12 or 13. They should not know a whole lot about sex, let alone be listening to a song promoting it. If I were a parent I would HATE my kid listening to this.
B. “Don’t Trust Me” by 3OH!3 The one part of this song that I do not like is their disrespectful refrence to Hellen Keller. The line says, “Shush girl, shut your lips, do the Hellen Keller and talk with your hips.” That poor woman did a lot with her life and had many struggles and certainly does not deserve to be made fun of! Imagine if you were blind and deaf just how many problems you would have, and on top of it all having a sexual move named after you after you died.
I am thankful for the alternative artists, and any artist for that matter, who keep their songs tasteful and I hope more of them will be able to break through to the pop industry.

I am very excited to introduce to you the newest addition to my family… Madam Fabulous! She is the most adorable puppy on earth, or close to it anyway. Fabulous is a blonde and fawn spotted Chihuahua, and only weighs about a pound and a half. She is getting along very well with her sister Mimi (Shih Tzu) and her brother Sambo (tuxedo cat). We found her at Pet Land in Lake Saint Louis. I was just browsing through the puppies and could not move on past her cage. It was love at first sight! I recently lost my other Shih Tzu, Cinderella, after having her for 14 years. Ironically, I lost my 16 year old Cocker Spaniel, Gucci, on the same day. Fabulous has really helped me get over them and her young spirit has brought me much joy. And in case you were wondering, yes she is a purse dog and she goes everywhere with me. Madam has wonderful sneaking skills, which have allowed her to accompany me at Maggiano’s, P.F. Changs, Steak n’ Shake, 54th Street Grill and Bar, as well as shopping trips. The great thing is when employees have noticed her in her purse they are won over by her cuteness and allow me to keep her. I hope Fabulous will be able to live a long and healthy life with me, as Cinderella and Gucci did.

When it comes to the Harry Potter franchise, both books and movies, success has been nothing but a guarantee. Author J.K. Rowling has generated more money from the seven book series alone than any other author in history. The first five movies have brought in almost $4.5 billion dollars worldwide.
Harry Potter has become a part of history. The fan base is almost unbelievable. I won’t deny that I have twice sat in Borders at midnight waiting for the latest book, and once at midnight for a movie.
I was a little nervous as a fan going into this latest movie, thinking for some reason it was going to disappoint. But it didn’t take more than the opening scene to assure me that this summer’s most anticipated movie was going to be one of the year’s best.
